It's really not much to ask for a doctor to listen to patients they're paid to listen to, that's all...
Either way, I would *not* send my kids here - get them private help from someone in Salisbury who isn't so bound to the states' version of mental health treatment (school-to-prison-pipeline comes to mind, when thinking about this place, in all honesty, but so does "eugenics"). I won't say this place harmed me (although the doctor did make threats to me - something I don't agree with doctors doing), but they definitely wasted precious time of my life that could've been spent getting better, or in recovery. This place did everything to cover their butts but nothing to actually help me - it seemed like a riskless money making operation to me. If you go here, you shouldn't expect any real help, or to get better from help they provide. The best way I can describe it as a joke facility who doesn't really take patients' mental health seriously - they're more about labeling people and diagnosis than treatment, at their very best. It's been 10 years since I've set foot there, at least, and I'm not the type to hold grudges, but I really wonder and get mad when I think about how many lives this place could be altering for the worst. I don't want to damage this place's reputation, but please, just go somewhere else, unless you have good reason to believe this place has changed and isn't like this anymore.
The doctor to be aware of has the last name of "Kapoor" (could be "Kapur"). So, if you see this doctor and start to see what I'm talking about - you'll know it's not just you.
Also, I've recently been diagnosed with several mental health issues that this place missed altogether, which doesn't really surprise me (the doctor didn't even consider them).
First, the facility itself, the staff, and even the counselors there are very good ("top-notch"), and I don't want what I'm about to say to reflect on them even the smallest bit, because they were always great to me.
However, the doctor(s) here are clearly not the "cream-of-the-crop". I went here for years, and even after that long, I felt the doctor didn't even know my name, and felt he had me confused with someone else from the beginning (for all those years)... or maybe he just simply didn't know me because he didn't try and it seemed that way.
