We had a wonderful campsite at the park, just a few steps from the Ocean. Fall asleep listening to the waves and set your alarm to get up for sunrise. Fabulous stargazing at night, they ask you to limit the lights you put on. The bathrooms and showers were nice and well situated. And wild ponies - what could be better. Just follow the rules and treat them like wild animals.
Wonderful experience! It was quiet, clean, and everything We expected. No hookups, just fire ring, a flat pad, and picnic table. Don't speed on the roads! Horses were everywhere and quite indifferent to our presence. Fishing third week of October was poor but oh well, I got great pics of dawn on the beach. Will be going again! Book early!
We love coming to see the horses but if it is summer, bring tons of bug spray for mosquitoes and horse flies! The trails here are great. Did I mention the horses? This is my happy place. Check out the visitors center. Great kids programs.
Beautifully maintained natural park. The wild ponies are close to the road and easy to spot.
A little touristy because of the wild horses but still a great place to visit. If you have children you'll have a great time with all the horses roaming around. There is plenty of camping but reserve early. Since there are no stores local bring whatever you need with you. Camping there is awesome but make sure you obey the rules especially about leaving food at the campsite. Leave it in your car because the horses will show up and take the food right off your table. They even drank my coffee and ate my bag of Pirates Booty!
